The Minister of State of Finance has stated in response to a question raised in Lok Sabha that 13,494 GST Evasion cases are registered in Gujarat.

13,494 GST Evasion cases registered in Gujarat
The Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance Shri. Pankaj Chaudhary has stated in response to a question raised in Lok Sabha that 13,494 GST Evasion cases are registered in Gujarat.
The Minister Shri Shaktisinh Gohil asked the question in Lok Sabha:
Will the Minister of FINANCE be pleased to state:
(a) the number of cases of GST evasion registered in Gujarat;
(b) the amount involved in this evasion; and
(c) the number of people arrested who were involved in cases of GST evasion?
The Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance Shri. Pankaj Chaudhary replied:
(a) to (c): During July 2017 and June 2024, the number of GST evasion cases registered by Central Tax formations in Gujarat are 13,494, with a GST evasion sum of about Rs.52,394 Cr and involving the arrest of 214 persons.
