Ministry Appoints Inspector-cum-Facilitators under Section 122 of the Code on Social Security, 2020

The Ministry of Labour and Employment recently issued a notification on May 8, 2026, appointing some officers as Inspector-sum-facilitators.

Under sub-section (1) of section 122 of the Code on Social Security, 2020 (36 of 2020), the Central Government has the authority to appoint certain officers. Using this power, the Government has appointed specific officers as Inspector-cum-Facilitators for the purposes of Chapter IV of the Code and other related provisions.

These Inspector-cum-Facilitators are responsible for carrying out their duties under the Code. They will also use the powers given to them under sub-section (6) of section 122.

While performing their roles, they must follow the inspection scheme mentioned in sub-section (2) of the same section of the Code.

The following is the list of officers:

1. Social Security Officer
2. Assistant Director
3. Deputy Director
4. Regional Director Grade ‘B’/Joint Director
5. Regional Director Grade ‘A’/Director
6. Additional Commissioner
7. Insurance Commissioner
