CBIC Extends Validity of Customs Circulars till 30th June 2026 due to Disruptions in Strait of Hormuz
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) under the Ministry of Finance has issued a circular extending the validity of circulars issued under section 143AA of the Customs Act, 1961, in view of continuing disruptions in maritime trade due to closure of Strait of Hormuz.
In view of the prevailing situation, the Board has decided to extend the validity of these circulars. Consequently, the facilities and relaxations provided under Circular No. 09/2026-Customs dated 08.03.2026, Circular No. 10/2026-Customs dated 10.03.2026, Circular No. 12/2026-Customs dated 17.03.2026, Circular No. 15/2026-Customs dated 27.03.2026, Circular No. 19/2026-Customs dated 10.04.2026, and Circular No. 21/2026-Customs dated 15.04.2026 will now continue until 30th June, 2026.
The CBIC added that all other terms, conditions, and facilities mentioned in these circulars will remain the same.
