Finance Ministry Notifies Anti-Dumping Duty on Chinese Monoisopropylamine

Recently, the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) has issued a notification dated 22nd May, 2026, as regard to imposition of anti-dumping duty on imports of Monoisopropylamine originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China.

The government investigated imports of a chemical called Monoisopropylamine from the People’s Republic of China. This chemical is covered under certain customs tariff categories as specified in the Customs Tariff Act, 1975.

The investigation was conducted by the Designated Authority (DGTR), and final findings were given on February 23 2026. The authority found that Chinese exporters were selling this chemical in India at prices below its normal value in China.

After reviewing the findings, the Central Government decided to impose an anti-dumping duty on imports of Monoisopropylamine from China. The object of this duty is to protect the Indian domestic industry from unfairly cheap imports and to reduce the injury caused to the Indian manufacturers.
