Big Decisions Await: GST Council Gears Up for Crucial 56th Meeting
The upcoming 56th GST Council Meeting is scheduled for September 2025 in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced this meeting in his Independence Day speech as a "Diwali gift" to launch various changes related to GST reforms, which aimed at simplifying the tax structure and reducing rates to ease the burden on citizens with an offer to shift most goods into the lower 5% and 18% slabs.
