Govt. Notifies Corrections to Income-tax Act 2025 The Ministry of Law and Justice (Legislative Department) has recently issued a corrigenda/corrigendum (official correction notice-CG-DL-E-03092025-265935) dated September 03, 2025. This type of notification is issued when an authority makes some changes to earlier published notifications. Here, the government is making changes to earlier versions of the Income-tax Act, 2025, and the Bills of Lading Act, 2025.

The intial Income-tax Act, 2025 (30 of 2025), was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 1, Issue No. 35, dated the 21st of August, 2025, while the Bills of Lading Act, 2025 (18 of 2025), was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 1, dated the 24th of July, 2025. After publishing these, the government felt like some typos and errors in them, hence to formally decided to correct those mistakes. The following changes have been made in the Income Tax Act, 2025:

In the Bills of Lading Act, 2025, in issue no. 23, at page no. 2, line 41, the phrase “or taken” is corrected to “done or taken.” The aim behind issuing this correction notification was to ensure that the legal text is accurate, clear, and grammatically correct.
