Income Tax: CBDT Notifies Puducherry Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board for Exemption u/s 10(46)
On July 22, 2025, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) shares a notification with the Puducherry Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board for the purpose of Income Tax Exemption under section 10 clause (46) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
Puducherry Building and Territory of Puducherry is a Board incorporated by Government of the Union Territory of Puducherry. If the Board earns revenue from the following:
- Cess received
- Registration and Renewal fee received/collected from the building and other Construction Workers
- Interest received in bank deposits
- Required not to engage in any commercial activity.
- Activities and the nature of the mentioned income shall remain unchanged throughout the financial years and
- Required to file a return of income in accordance with the condition of clause (g) (4C) of section 139 of the Income Tax Act 1961.
