The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a notification inviting online applications from eligible candidates for Various Posts mentioned in Annexure-III in SSC Recruitment 2023 official notification. The total vacancies available in Recruitment 2023 drive is 5369.

Age Limit for SSC Recruitment 2023:

As per SSC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the age limit for each category of post(s) is mentioned in Post-details in Annexure-III against each category of post. The Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate will be accepted by the Commission for determining the age eligibility. No subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.

There are permissible age relaxations beyond the upper age limit for eligible categories of applicants. The permissible age relaxations are as follows:

• For SC/ST applicants, the age relaxation is 5 years.
• For OBC applicants, the age relaxation is 3 years.
• For PwBD applicants, the age relaxation is 10 years.
• For PwBD+OBC applicants, the age relaxation is 13 years.
• For PwBD+SC/ST applicants, the age relaxation is 15 years.
• For Ex-Servicemen (ESM) applicants, the age relaxation is 3 years after the deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as of the closing date.
• For Defence Personnel disabled in operation during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof, the age relaxation is 3 years.

Selection Process for SSC Recruitment 2023:

As per SSC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the examination for various posts will be conducted in three separate Computer Based Examinations. The subjects covered in the examination will be General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill), and English Language (Basic Knowledge). The maximum mark for each subject will be 50, with 25 questions for each subject. The duration of the examination will be 60 minutes (80 minutes for candidates eligible for scribes as per paras 9.1 and 9.2).

There will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer. The marks scored by the candidates in the Computer Based Examination will be normalized using the formula published by the Commission. The normalized scores will be used to determine the final merit and cut-off marks.

Skill tests such as Typing/ Data Entry/ Computer Proficiency Tests, etc. will be conducted for the posts with the prescribed Essential Qualification, and these tests will be of a qualifying nature.

The Commission will have the discretion to fix different minimum qualifying standards in each component of the Examination based on various factors such as category-wise vacancies and category-wise number of candidates.

Tentative Answer Keys will be placed on the Commission’s website after the Examination. Candidates may go through the Answer Keys and submit representations, if any, within the time limit given by the Commission through online modality only, on payment of Rs 100/- per question. Any representation regarding Answer Keys received within the time limit fixed by the Commission at the time of uploading of the Answer Keys will be scrutinized before finalizing the Answer Keys, and the decision of the Commission in this regard will be final. No representation regarding Answer Keys shall be entertained later.

Educational Qualification for SSC Recruitment 2023:

As per SSC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selection will be based on the recruitment rules of the post, and equivalency will not be allowed unless mentioned in the prescribed essential qualification for any category of post in the notice. For posts requiring proficiency in the relevant language as an essential qualification, the applicant must have studied that language up to the Matriculation level, and if the language is not taught as a subject in Matriculation, it must be the applicant’s mother tongue.

Degrees, diplomas, or certificates awarded through open and distance learning modes of education by universities established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature, Institutions deemed to be Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act 1956, and Institutions of National Importance declared under an Act of Parliament will be recognized for the purpose of employment under the Central Government provided they have been approved by the University Grants Commission. Programs in engineering, medicine, dental, nursing, pharmacy, architecture, and physiotherapy are not permitted to be offered under Open and Distance Learning mode as per the UGC (Open and Distance Learning) Regulations, 2017, except for B.Tech. Degree/Diploma in Engineering awarded by IGNOU to the students who were enrolled up to the academic year 2009-10.

How to Apply for SSC Recruitment 2023:

To apply as per SSC Recruitment 2023 official notification, candidates are advised to follow these steps:

1. Visit the official website of SSC.
2. Click on the “Apply” button, and then select the category of the post you wish to apply for.
3. Fill in the required details in the online application form, and upload the necessary documents.
4. Pay the application fee of Rs. 100/- (if applicable) through BHIM UPI, net banking, credit/debit card, or by generating an SBI Challan.
5. Submit the application form online before the last date, i.e., 27.03.2023 (23:00).
6. After successful submission of the online application, take a printout of the application form for submitting the same along with the requisite documents, duly self-attested, as and when called for by the Commission/User Department after the conduct of the Computer-Based Examination.
7. The information furnished by the candidates in their applications will be verified by the User Department/Commission with reference to the original documents during the Document Verification.
8. Candidates can make corrections to their application forms from 03.04.2023 till 05.04.2023 (23:00).
