CBDT Grants Scientific Research Approval to Sir Ganga Ram Trust Society:

CBDT has approved Sir Ganga Ram Trust Society, Delhi, as an eligible institution for scientific research for tax years 2026-27 to 2030-31 under the new income-tax law.
CBDT Grants Five-Year Scientific Research Approval

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has approved Sir Ganga Ram Trust Society, Delhi, for scientific research under the category of a university, college or other institution.
The approval has been issued under the Income-tax Act, 2025, and the Income-tax Rules, 2026. It will remain valid for the tax years 2026-27 to 2030-31.
According to the CBDT notification, the trust will have to follow all the conditions prescribed under the Income-tax Rules, 2026.
The organisation will also be required to submit a statement for every tax year in Form No. 15. This statement must be filed with the Director General of Income-tax (Systems) or an authorised officer by May 31 following the tax year in which the donation is received.
In addition, the trust will have to provide donors with a certificate in Form No. 16, mentioning the amount of donation received, as required under the tax rules.
The approval is aimed at recognising the Sir Ganga Ram Trust Society as an eligible institution for scientific research under the provisions of the new income-tax law.
